API Development & MCP Integration

Make your existing software accessible to agents through well-designed APIs and MCP servers.

The opportunity

Make your systems ready for agents.

Your applications already hold the data and actions your agents need. We build or extend their integration layer with documented APIs and Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers, giving AI applications a structured way to discover and use approved capabilities.

From scope to system

What we build with you.

A focused implementation, shaped around your systems, data, and operating requirements.

01

API design & modernisation

Expose useful business operations through versioned endpoints with clear schemas, pagination, errors, and integration documentation.

02

MCP server implementation

Design narrowly scoped tools and resources with descriptions and input schemas that supported AI clients can discover and understand.

03

Identity & authorisation

Integrate suitable authentication, user-scoped access, credential handling, and audit logging. Preserve the source system’s permissions.

04

Compatibility & lifecycle

Validate against the intended clients and transports, document configuration, and plan for versioning, limits, and changes to upstream systems.

An example in practice

An internal platform becomes an approved agent tool.

An illustrative MCP server exposes a catalogue search and a draft purchase-request tool. Agents can retrieve current information, while submission remains subject to the same approval rules as the application.

Define success early

Measure the work.
Improve the outcome.

We agree on relevant baselines and acceptance criteria before implementation. Depending on your scope, these may include:

  • Integration and schema conformance
  • Permission-boundary coverage
  • Tool reliability and latency
  • Client compatibility

Have something more specific in mind?

Talk it through with us
Does MCP replace our APIs?

Usually not. An MCP server often wraps existing APIs and presents selected capabilities as tools or resources for AI clients. The API remains the underlying business interface.

Can you add an API to a legacy system?

Often, depending on the interfaces, data access, and vendor constraints available. Discovery establishes what can be exposed safely and whether a supported adapter or application change is needed.

Will every AI client work with our MCP server?

Compatibility depends on the client’s supported protocol version, transport, and authentication. We test the clients in your agreed scope and document any limitations.
